My name is Lisa and I am the proud mama of 6 beautiful girls, two of which I was blessed to
have Liz deliver. Daughter number 6 was adopted and unfortunately could not be delivered by
Liz. My third child was delivered at Scottsdale Memorial North hospital and brought many
complications. During the delivery the OB tore my cervix to speed up the delivery which caused
complications in my recovery. The damage to the cervix was so extensive I was told I might
never be able to have any more children. Fast forward 4 years later I found myself pregnant
with daughter number 4. I knew I never wanted to deliver in a hospital again and started my
research to find the perfect midwife. After interviewing at many birth centers I finally found Liz.
I went to her home with my husband and after many hours of talking with her, I knew that she
would be the perfect partner for our home birth. I would have to say that the best part of
having Liz is that I never felt rushed at any of our visits. She always took the time to answer our
questions and made us feel like we were part of her family. When the time finally arrived to
deliver our daughter Liz was instrumental in her delivery. I know with 100% certainty that if I
had an OB I would have been forced to have a c-section. Because of the cervical damage I was
having problems dilating. The labor was long and very exhausting but Liz never left my side.
She was in my home for almost 48 hours laboring right next to me. She rubbed my back and
took care of me while I struggled with my body. She was my person during that time and I can’t
imagine what might have happened had she not been there to care for me. I loved that after
my daughter was born Liz didn’t rush out the door. I needed special care afterwards and Liz
stayed with me until I was settled ensuring that I was comfortable, the baby was happy, healthy
When I found myself pregnant 2 years later, Liz was the 2 nd person I announced the pregnancy
too. This time around I had a water birth and the delivery went perfectly. Again, Liz never tired
and cared for me exactly as she had the first time around. My daughters are now grown and
having babies of their own. When daughter number 5 found herself pregnant we called Liz to
be her Mid-wife. It was so fantastic to see Liz caring for a baby from a mama that she delivered
so many years ago. Although, Liz didn’t get to see her pregnancy thru due to insurance reasons.
I was happy to see that my daughter still chose to use a midwife for her pregnancy.
I can barely remember the names of the 3 OB’s that delivered my first 3 babies. I will never
forget the beautiful woman who was my partner for my last two births. Liz has remained a
constant in my life for the last 20 years. She has watched my girls grow thru social media and I
have been blessed to watch her business grow as well. I wished Liz could have been there for
all of my births! She is absolutely amazing and I am so blessed to call her my friend.
